FACTS

Below you should find all your payment and shipping questions answered along with more information about beeswax and beeswax candle care.

01

Why beeswax?
  • Beeswax is one of the oldest kinds of waxes used for candle making with a tradition stretching back to the middle ages.

  • A colony of bees produces approximately 450gms of wax per year, making beeswax something to treasure.

  • Beeswax candles have a high melting point so burn much slower than ordinary candles emitting an intoxicating aromatic smell of honey.  The flame is a sublte golden colour.

  • Non allergenic and non toxic, beeswax candles emit negative ions which purify the air, can aid asthma sufferers and help eliminate nasty odours.

  • Smoke and soot free with virtually no drip.

  • The colour of the wax varies depending on the seasons giving a uniquness to each batch of candles.

Candle care
  • Trim the wick to 0.6cm (0.25ins).  If on first lighting the wick doesn't light properly don't panic!  Just light again.
  • Always keep the candle away from draughts - it will burn better and longer.
  • Always place the candle on a fire proof surface.
  • Keep away from anything flammable, in particular curtains.
  • Never leave candle unattended
  • Beeswax candles can form a natural bloom if stored for a while or at cold temperatures.  Some people like the 'bloom look', but to restore candle backto its orginal state, place in the sun for a while or, for quicker results, use a hair dryer at a low setting.
  • Do not store in direct sunlight as the candle might fade in colour.
